Expatriate Coaching
Studies show us that approximately 35 percent of all expatriate managers end their assignments early and 50 percent of those who stay through the full length of their assignment achieve a low-level of effectiveness. These are not good odds, considering the investment your organization is making in relocating expats and their families. How can you support your expat and their family? How can you help increase your expat assignment success rate?
The Executive Communicator provides coaching services that help prepare individual managers and their families for expatriate assignments. Our coaches are intercultural experts and have helped managers relocate to many areas of the world. We focus on both the personal and business aspects of the transition. Coaching will increase the probability of a smooth adjustment to the new culture and the manager’s success at the local level.
Our work with expatriates includes:
- Dealing with culture shock
- Becoming aware of differing worldviews and norms
- Gaining cross-cultural agility
- Making friends and networking in the new culture
- Acting appropriately in social and business settings
- Adapting to different nonverbal and verbal communication practices
- Dealing with different cultural expectations regarding rank, seniority, gender
